Randy Honerlah
California artist Randy Honerlah grew up in the San Francisco bay area and currently resides in the Sierra foothills.
Randy has been painting since he was a boy. He studied art in college and with various artists and workshops. His recent retirement from a 30 year career in IT Management has now allowed him to paint at his leisure and as inspiration strikes.
Past artworks have been both representational and abstract: in oils, watercolors and acrylics. Today he focuses mainly on contemporary abstracts in acrylic medium. Through his use of vivid color and composition he enjoys manipulating shapes, textures and flowing colors – stirring the human emotion and placing the viewer in an unfamiliar perspective. Acrylics allow for a timelier layering of color and texture. Most of Randy’s paintings have seven or more paint layers and all are finished with a minimum of three varnish coats for protection of the piece.
Randy is a member of the El Dorado Arts Council, Placerville Art Association, El Dorado Hills Arts Association, Folsom Arts Association and International Society of Acrylic Artists (ISAP). His work can be seen Gold Country Artist Gallery in Placerville, CA and Fare Bella Gallery in Manitou Springs CO. He has had showings at many fine galleries including: Sacramento Fine Arts, CA, Artistic Edge Gallery in Sacramento, CA, Tim Collom Gallery Sacramento CA, Tracy Miller Gallery in Manitou Springs, and Third Dimension Gallery in Kamuela, Hawaii.
