Dawn Johnson
Fluid Artistry by Dawn Johnson began early in 2021 in Placerville, California.
Dawn had originally wanted to be a palette knife artist, but this was during the covid pandemic and she was unable to find a suitable instructor. It was just by chance while watching YouTube videos on palette knife painting that Dawn came across fluid artistry and immediately fell in love with the fluid art method. The method allows for an increased use of paints, media, to apply her vision as well as so many additional tools to accomplish her visions. She also finds that it can be a very relaxing experience.
Having never taken any type of lesson, on-line videos became her teacher, and she continues her research in fluid art. Now Dawn produces beautiful fluid art such as acrylic, alcohol ink and resin paintings on canvas, tiles and wood.
Dawn was influenced by Barbara Dow, an artist and very dear friend in Sacramento. She inspired Dawn to become an artist. Even though Barbara’s art is very different from fluid art, she’s been a constant cheerleader and advisor.
