From growing up in the Bay Area to living in the foothills, Jean Stiles' art has been her constant companion and passion. She especially finds great joy in painting outdoors on location. She tends to paint mostly in watercolors but also likes working with oil and pastel. Her favorite themes are plein air landscapes, but also still lifes present a challenge. And she gets endless inspiration from her own travel photographs.
In the past she found expression in pottery and from 1990 to 1994 was a member of Diablo Studio Potters in Lafayette, a working pottery and gallery. Jean has been active in this gallery since 2000 and is also a member of Placerville Art Association and the Sierra Pastel Society. She graduated from Scripps College in Claremont, CA where she majored in Fine Art. You can email Jean at jeanestiles@gmail.com
