Conni Jo Hardie
Born and raised in Placerville, CA, Conni’s parents raised her to be very independent, inquisitive, dependable and confident. Her grandmother encouraged young Conni’s artistic interests and helped cultivate her passion for color and experimentation with art. Conni earned her BA in Art from CSU Chico while also attaining her Life Time Secondary and Community College teaching credentials, and her MFA from CSU Sacramento.
For 40 years Conni absolutely loved teaching the appreciation of art and skills needed to express oneself with Fine Art. While teaching full time Conni also served as the High School Art Department Chairperson within the Sacramento and El Dorado Counties for many years.
As an artist, she is considered a Colorist who specializes in space relationships using multiple forms of media. Many of her works are influenced by her travels to Europe and especially the Hawaiian Islands depicting her Aloha Spirit. Conni works in a variety of styles; Impressionistic, Realism and Abstract. Conni Jo Hardie’s personal motto is: “Don’t Be Afraid of Color”
