Claudia Bennett’s
I am a member of PAA. I entered my paintings in two art shows at the Government
center in Placerville during the fall of 2019 and 2022. I enjoyed the experience and meeting members of PAA.
I am also a member of Once Upon A Canvas in Benicia. I take art classes using acrylics with Charles White, who is the instructor there. I also have my art on display for sale.
I was honored as Artist of the Month in September 2021. My inspiration for my paintings comes from the places I have visited and flowers that I have grown in my garden. I take photos and paint from them recreating wonderful memories.
In April of 2022, I entered a juried art show in Benicia with other students in my class. I received a blue ribbon for Best of Show for my acrylic painting of The South Fork of the American River!
In August of 2021, members of Once Upon A Canvas participated in a Peddler’s Fair on First street in Benicia, selling our art.
After teaching children how to sew by hand through local Parks and Recreation summer programs in the Sacramento area, I decided to write and self-Publish my Sew What? Sew Anything! sewing book for children in 1988. It teaches children how to cut out patterns, pin and hand sew five easy projects. I sold them to stores in the Sacramento area such as The Teacher’s Exchange and The Report Card.
When my husband and I moved to Coloma, in 1993, I proposed my sewing classes to the Placerville Recreation and Parks district and taught for many years during the summers.
I enjoy participating in local craft fairs, selling my art, sewing books and items I have sewn. I enjoy meeting and talking with customers who are interested in my work.
